Revet Raw Linseed Oil (Rou Lynolie) is a traditional, plant-derived oil valued for enhancing the natural appearance of timber and highlighting the unique grain and character of wood.

Obtained from flaxseed, Raw Linseed Oil has long been associated with wood finishing, furniture care and traditional restoration techniques. It offers an understated, naturally warm finish for suitable untreated timber surfaces.

🌳 Wood Care & Furniture:

Raw Linseed Oil is traditionally applied to suitable untreated wood to bring out its natural grain and enrich its appearance.

It can be considered for furniture, wooden features and other timber surfaces where a classic oil finish is preferred. The final colour, sheen and level of absorption will depend on the wood species, condition and application method.

🏠 Interior Wood Surfaces:

For suitable bare timber, Raw Linseed Oil offers an alternative to conventional decorative finishes.

It can complement the appearance of wooden doors, skirting boards, beams and decorative woodwork, helping to create a warm, natural-looking finish.

As with other oil finishes, appropriate surface preparation, drying time and ongoing maintenance are important.

🛠️ DIY, Woodworking & Restoration:

A traditional choice for woodworkers, furniture restorers and DIY enthusiasts working with natural timber.

Raw Linseed Oil can be used in suitable wood-finishing and restoration projects where maintaining the character of the original timber is a priority.

Unlike Boiled Linseed Oil, Raw Linseed Oil is slow drying and requires sufficient time to dry and cure. Results depend on the timber, application thickness and environmental conditions.

🏭 Industrial & Manufacturing:

Beyond woodworking, Raw Linseed Oil is a recognised raw material in the manufacture of certain surface coatings, varnishes, alkyd resins and other specialised formulations.

Its suitability for manufacturing applications should be assessed against the relevant technical specifications and processing requirements.

🌿 Traditional, Plant-Derived Oil:

Produced from flaxseed, Raw Linseed Oil is valued for its natural origin and long-established role in wood-finishing traditions.

Its characteristic amber tone may deepen the appearance of lighter woods. Always test on a small, inconspicuous area before treating a larger surface.

Bring out the natural character of your timber with Revet Raw Linseed Oil, a traditional choice for wood finishing, restoration and craftsmanship.

🔥 IMPORTANT FIRE SAFETY WARNING

OIL-SOAKED CLOTHS AND APPLICATORS MAY SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUST.

Linseed Oil can generate heat as it reacts with oxygen during drying. Cloths, paper towels and other absorbent materials containing the oil may catch fire if improperly stored or discarded.

  • Never leave oil-soaked cloths crumpled, piled together or inside an ordinary waste bin.

  • Immediately after use, immerse oil-soaked cloths in water in a suitable covered metal container until they can be safely disposed of.

  • Alternatively, where safe and permitted, spread cloths individually on a non-combustible surface in a well-ventilated location, away from combustible materials, until completely dry.

  • Follow the product's safety instructions and applicable local waste-disposal requirements.

Always handle and dispose of oil-soaked materials with care.
